How Odd
Isn't it odd how attached you become to your computer???
I'm using an apple at the moment at home and its driving me crazy.
Apple sucks.

Giggle, Macs are great - it's just what you get used to. I use a PC at work, but an iBook at home - love my iBook...

My housemate LH dropped her laptop down 4 flights of stairs (It went straight down the middle) and its a little broken at the moment so she's using mine and I am using MH's - its driving me nuts because i have no google talk, ichat isn't happening for some reason and I can't find anything and all my programs that I use are not on the mac!
And LH really needs to use mine as its faster then MH's and she has shitloads of work on at the moment - if she stayed at work to do it, she'd basically live there.
God I hope she gets a new one soon!
Dollop - bite me
Steph - thanks darl, at least SOMEONE understands *pokes tongue out at Dollop*
Dollop - awww, you can only check out 2 places at once to try to track down that Lindt chocolate???
Nick - *sigh* I know, I'll adjust... just in time for me to get mine back.... I am SO technologically retarded that changing computers is SUCH a struggle for me!

Try an application called Adium - it allows you to IM across different systems, like MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, iChat and even Google talk. Do a Google search and you'll find the Adium site.
I was lucky enough to get a cheap, legit version of Office for Mac through work, so Word, PowerPoint, Excel are all available for me...including MSN Messenger.
Meh, from what you've blogged about your work, it sounds like you've got the whole techno stuff going on, so enuff o' that retarded talk, girl ; )

I really hate not having my comp - I know where all the icons are !!!!!!!!
I am good at processes and workflows, I can create reports and I can master a mainframe within days (I was showing something to one of the managers here the other day, he's been here for about 14 years and i showed him a screen in the mainframe that he'd never seen before... I'm not too sure how he did his job without it but whatever..)
However i cannot up/down/whatever load pics from my camera to the comp (I just keep buying new ones of those memory card thingies... is that what they're called???), i cannot program a vcr, I can just about manage to use a dvd player and when i had an ipod I had to get other people to load songs onto it for me.
My technological retardedness is selective... basically, if its work related, I can do it, if its not... well... thats what men are for... Now be a man & program my damn dvd player!
One of my finest (??) moments was when I brought down a nation wide phone/computer system that resulted in 4 call centres and i don't even know how many branches going offline at once.... admittedly, it did prove the point that I was making about the instablity of the system and the need for further testing and a staggered roll out but it still wasn't good.....
We thought I'd just taken out our call centre and then the call centre managers mobile started ringing - nope, it was nationwide..... oooooooooo have you ever seen someone go white???????

Oh no - it was really bad, I actually threw up.
I seriously thought my ass was grass but my manager played dumb so only a couple of people ever worked out it was me and they were all sworn to secrecy... Management just sent the tech guys to work again.
