Ooooooooooooh....

My shoes have arrived...

They aint gettin any work out me for the rest of the day - I'm just going to sit here with a dreamy smile and gaze besottedly at my shoes while I pat & stroke them like a puppy.

The fabric is so soft & shiny

The leather is so pale and soft and smells so good

The soles are immaculate

So pretty

So comfy

So in love

I could die happy - right now.

Let me tell you about my "happy place". I'm lucky enough to have a walk in wardrobe. I keep all my shoes in their boxes with a polaroid on the front to tell me what shoe is in the box. They are stacked from floor to ceiling, and when i'm in a shitter of a mood. I just like to go and sit there. Aahhh the serenity.

I also have shoe's i've never worn, and will never wear cos they are just too damn pretty or.....a size too small! Ha!

LOL - that would be a very happy place!

Mine are all lined up nicely in their boxes at home... I miss that ... I probably should do the photo thing though.. that would make it much much easier to find them without going through every box.

I have my mother opening the boxes & rotating them on a regular basis to make sure they don't get musty while i am away ... there's nothing worse... lol

BTW - can i just say that its great to know I am not the only person who buys shoes that are too small purely because they are just too pretty to risk them going to a home that wont look after them properly???

    Does that make us obsessed???

Yes, Yes it does. but i look at it this way. Some people collect art to put on their walls. We collect art to WEAR!

Here's something I won't blog about on my site because it might identify me, but I'll share it here...

When the Little Dude was a baby I started my own shoe business from home. I specialised in made-to-order shoes where women chose their own leathers and styles (from a range of samples) and the shoes were made to their specifications by hand. It was a huge success, but I stopped after a year because my husband was away with work too much and I couldn't keep up with it all as well as look after a baby on my own. I also got fed up with the many little inconsistencies that are part and parcel of dealing with leather dye lot variations, women with weird feet, and melodramatic minimal-English-speaking craftsmen etc.

I just shut down the business and boxed up all my samples and leftover stock, much to the horror of my many happy clients. To this day I still have over $5000 (wholesale) worth of brand new shoes of various styles and sizes sitting in boxes in my friend's garage. God knows when I'll ever deal with it all.

That, my friends, is a (rather embarrassing) shoe collection!

Steph - I have to say I agree - shoes are art, I defy anyone who says otherwise!

Melda - *cries* oh my god - heaven - i would never leave that garage! I would sit there, surrounded by shoes and smiling like a loon!

And yes - I agree with Steph - Ebay all the way baby!

And thanks - right back at 'cha!
